gravity

What is Gravity?

Imagine you drop a ball. What happens? It falls to the ground! That's because of something super cool called gravity.

Gravity is like an invisible pull. Everything in the universe that has mass (which means everything that takes up space, like you, a tree, or a planet) pulls on every other thing. The bigger something is, the stronger its pull!

On Earth, gravity is what keeps your feet on the ground and stops you from floating off into space. It's also why things fall down when you let go of them.

Gravity makes the apple fall down!

Not just apples! Gravity also keeps the Moon orbiting around our Earth, and it keeps all the planets orbiting around the Sun. It's a truly amazing and powerful force that shapes our entire universe!

Think about it!

Even you have a tiny bit of gravity! You pull on everything around you, and everything pulls on you. But because things like pens and books are so much smaller than Earth, their pull is too tiny for us to notice.
